Beautifully designed Birth Affirmations by We the Parents

Magical Baby Moments Hypnobirthing Course teaches its expectant parents about the benefits of using positive birth statements. Positive birth affirmations are an effective way of keeping focused and in the right mindset. They are a powerful way to train your mind to move out of the way of your body; to let nature take its course. Many women who had their minds in the right space created smoother, shorter and less challenging labour experiences than women who hadn’t known about affirmations.

Sadly, my creativity skills stopped around the time I passed the pre-schooler age! So when We the Parents got in touch with their stunning poster, I couldn’t not share it.

Here’s a beautiful and complete list of positive birthing affirmations, aggregated from different sources, for you to use so you can get on with feeling calm and prepared for your incredible labour and birth.

If you’re 20 weeks pregnant or beyond, it’s time to get yourself booked on a hypnobirthing course.

Why? What will I benefit from it?

No other antenatal course is as rounded and broad as a hypnobirthing one. It covers all the facts and feelings, changes and challenges that you might face in late pregnancy, labour, birth and beyond.

If you want to have informed choice, rather than being guided blindly into situations, hypnobirthing classes will arm you with the information.

Did you know…

  • You can decline induction*
  • Vaginal examinations are not necessary
  • C-sections can often be riskier than VBACs
  • The first hour after birth is a crucial time for bonding with your baby

These are just a few of the many topics that are covered in a hypnobirthing course. Read the full course outline

Magical Baby Moments runs both evening and weekend courses in Romford and Upminster throughout the year.

There’s are a few places available in March, so if you’re more than half way through your pregnancy, now is the time to get you and your birth partner booked in.

9 natural techniques that can comfort you during labour

These 9 techniques can help you get through labour with less pain so you can truly enjoy the birth of your baby.

For some lucky women, labour is a breeze. For others, it can be uncomfortable and painful – but it doesn’t have to be. There are lots of ways to make yourself more comfortable during labour. Try these natural pain-relief techniques prior to labour, and you can try others as your labour progresses.

  1. Hypnobirthing
Women who have hypnobirthed agree that this is a non-invasive way to reduce muscle tension and pain in childbirth. Hypnobirthing is something you can learn and practice ahead of time so you’ll be comfortable using it in labour.

Breathing techniques help keep you relaxed and focus your attention and visualizing a beautiful scene in your mind, one that makes you feel safe and relaxed is also taught, so that you can focus your mind on this place when you have contractions.

Also saying your birth affirmations to yourself during this breathing will help maintain a positive mind.

  2. Massage
Have your partner massage your arms, legs, or back during labour to help you relax and to decrease tension and pain.
  3. Rocking/Birthing Ball
Time spent in a rocking chair, gently moving back and forth as you breathe and relax can help you relax during labour, or try bouncing gently on a birthing ball.
  4. Walking or Rocking
Walking, or even just pacing right by your bed, decreases discomfort while helping your contractions become stronger and more regular. Or you could try rocking back and forth with your partner while leaning on him.
  5. Changing Positions
Don’t stay in the same position for too long, and don’t lie flat on your back. Instead, try sitting up in your bed or a chair, lying on your side, squatting and rocking on a birthing ball, or leaning forward over the back of a chair or your birthing bed. If possible being mobile during labour helps your contractions progress.
  6. Being in or under water
Try sitting in a shower with a jet spray against your back, or lying in a whirlpool bath. Not all birthing centres or hospitals have a tub or shower in the room, so this is not always possible.
  7. TENS machine
A TENS machine sends electrical pulses (on your back) which are believed to prevent pain signals from reaching your brain and stimulate your body to release natural, feel-good substances (endorphins).
  8. Music
Make sure you have your favourite, relaxing songs on your phone, tablet, or laptop. Don’t forget your headphones or earbuds!
  9. Aromatherapy
Wonderful smells help you relax and feel better, so take fragrant lotion or potpourri for your room to give yourself a lift.

The important thing for now, is to do your homework. Find out all you can about your options, talk to your health care provider, and trust yourself to make the decisions that will work best for you and your baby.

What is a hypnobirthing course?

It is a full antenatal course that teaches all aspects of late pregnancy, what to expect during labour, how to handle changes that may occur during labour in order to make the right decisions for you and your baby, as well as a host of tips and techniques to help keep you focused, calm and confident during labour and birth.

Hypnobirthing is usually taught anywhere from 20 weeks, so that you have time to practice and have the techniques nailed down – ready to call upon when you need them, but if you are later into your pregnancy, this is perfectly fine. Magical Baby Moments follows the teaching programme that KG Hypnobirthing has developed. Classes are comprised of either four evening classes or two full weekend days.

If you are aiming for a confident and positive birth, you don’t want to miss out on this course. By preparing yourself with hypnobirthing, you significantly increase your chances of having the birth that you want, often without the need for medical interventions.

What is hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing is not some hippy, tree-hugging cult thing whatsoever. It doesn’t put you in some altered state of reality, making you do things you wouldn’t normally do. So you can tell your birthing partners that they don’t need to run for the hills!

The ‘hypno’, of course, comes from hypnosis – and so it’s hypnosis for birthing… But even still that conjures up the wrong images.

So what is it?

It’s simply about having a deeper understanding of what your body is doing during labour. Realising that there are techniques and positions that can help optimise your labour, to make it comfortable and, in many cases, faster than those labours that don’t use these simple and effective tools.

Magical Baby Moments Hypnobirthing Course is a full antenatal course that teaches what physically happens to the body during labour so that the mother and her birth partner have a deep understanding of the journey their baby will go through to make it into this world. By understanding how the baby, body and mind are interconnected helps the couple understand the techniques which will enable them to manage this transition smoothly and serenely.

Learn how to:
⭐️Release fear and tension – to avoid pain and intervention
⭐️⭐️ Learn self-hypnosis – to induce deep relaxation
⭐️⭐️⭐️Use visualisation exercises and affirmations – to keep you confident, serene and positive

Hundreds of women every day who give birth in a positive and calm environment. They feel confident and in control of their labour and the path that unfolds for her and her baby. This can be you too….

So if you’ve been put off by media, friends and family that labour is some horrific ritual that you have to pass through to hold your baby, it’s not true.

Hypnobirthing mothers often say that they had a calm, comfortable birth – usually without the need for medical intervention – where they welcomed their baby with ease, confidence and happiness.

And what about the birth partners?
Hypnobirthing courses give birth partners, tips, tricks and tools to help support mum and baby during labour and birth. Labour is a team effort, where the birth partner plays and essential role.

What else does the course cover?
Read on our hypnobirthing classes page the content that will be covered in each of the four sessions.
